Cuddly Chloe Needs Help
Appeal posted on behalf of Friends of the Animals RCT
Please can you help this gorgeous rottie girl, Chloe?

Chloe was saved from the pound by our lovely fostering coordinator Berni as Chloe’s 7 days were up. Unfortunately Chloe has a problem with her waterworks… she drips urine when she moves around.
This is not our first dog to have such a problem, Rosie the Springer Spaniel also had a similar issue. For Rosie, the tests, scans, x-rays and operation all added up to around £4000.
For this reason we are making an appeal for donations to help Chloe. We really want to help Chloe and give her the best treatment possible so she can live a happy life, drip free.
If you can donate anything at all, please do. Every little bit counts.
You can donate VIA paypal and state “chloe” as the purpose…

About Precious Poundies..
http://www.preciouspoundies.co.uk
Precious Poundies works in conjunction with a council pound in Yorkshire.
We find dog rescues to take the dogs on so that they can be rehomed responsibly from there. All the rescues we use must meet the following criteria:
* Must Neuter
* Must Homecheck
* Must Vaccinate
* Must Worm
* Must Microchip
* Must offer lifetime back up
* Must have a non-destruct policy.
Lifetime back up is if it isn’t working out in the new home then the dog will be accepted back to the rescue, or advice with care or behavioural/health issues will be offered, or any other support needed by the new owners. This is to prevent the dogs ending back in the situation we have just got them out of.
If Precious Poundies are unable to help these dogs they would be destroyed. Lots of stray dogs are continually bought into the pound, which when full, has to make room for the new strays.
Rochdale Dog Rescue in Crisis - Please Help
Unfortunately due to the current economic crisis, we are facing an uncertain future! We receive fewer donations, whilst the number of dogs coming in is ever increasing as more people are abandoning their dogs, causing us to struggle to
pay the bills. We work really hard to save dogs in
the pound who face being put to sleep and we never turn a dog away, regardless of breed/age/health/temperament. The number of dogs in boarding has steadily increased and there are just not enough funds to guarantee the security of these dogs until their rescue space or forever
home arrives.
We don’t like to ask our generous team of
supporters for more, but unfortunately unless we do so the future of the dogs in the pound and emergency boarding will be uncertain; there
is a real danger that we will run out of funds! It costs us £4 a day to board a dog ….. and no donation is too small to help us through these
difficult times.
Another way to help is to come and support us
at our Northern Dog Show on Sunday 14th June 2009 at Scarisbrick Village Hall, Ormskirk; you can also buy raffle tickets beforehand at just £1 each. The raffle will be drawn at the Show and prizes include £100 cash, a Bissell vacuum cleaner and a large cuddly dog! If you would like to buy a raffle ticket or can sell any for us, please contact Deborah at dcbalchin@aol.com. The tickets come in books of 5 and we have 2000 to sell prior to 14th June!
We thank our loyal supporters for reading this and helping in any way that you can - come along to the website Rochdale Dog Rescue and catch up with the work we do, see some of the gorgeous dogs we have been able to save and those who are currently in our care at emergency
boarding.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us on rochdaledogrescue@btinternet.com or if you are able to donate our paypal address is rochdaledogrescue@btinternet.com Donations can also be made by Cheque or BACS please contact dcbalchin@aol.com for more details.
Thank you, from all at RDR xx
Staffie thrown out of window by gang of youths - RSPCA appealing for info about this crime
FORCED TO FIGHT AND THROWN TO DEATH
Lance Boyd
news@southwarknews.org
The RSPCA believe this dog was thrown 70ft to its death from a balcony, after being badly injured in a fight.
A witness has reported seeing a gang of approximately ten to fifteen youths throwing the Staffordshire Bull Terrier off the fifth floor of Sidmouth House in Lympstone Gardens, Peckham, at around 9.30pm last Friday night.
It is believed that the gang had carried the dog to the block of flats after it had sustained earlier facial injuries, which the RSPCA suspects were probably inflicted during a dogfight.
The witness to the act said that the group of youths, which included a teenage girl, had carried the dog through the flats and the visibly injured animal was whimpering with pain. The teenage gang then headed to the fifth floor and walked along the communal balcony, where they threw the dog over the edge.
The Bull Terrier fell approximately 70 feet to the concrete floor below, where the gang then picked up the dead animal and threw it into a communal bin.
RSPCA inspector Rebecca London said: “This is horrible cruelty. I am absolutely disgusted that this poor dog was whimpering and in distress and yet this group thought it was fine to just throw it over the balcony to get rid of it”.
If you have any information on the youths the RSPCA urge you to contact them in confidence on 03001234 999.
